Opening in Sept. of 1936, the B.S. Moss Criterion Theater had an Art Modern style with 1,700 seats.  Over the decades, The Criterion was host to World Premieres including “The Ten Commandments” 1956, “Lawrence of Aribia” 1962, “South Pacific” 1958, “My Fair Lady” 1964, “Funny Girl” 1968, and “Patton” 1970. The theater drawn as it was in the 80’s converted to 6 screens on 3 different levels.  It closed for good in May 2000 and was gutted Internally to become a Toy’s R Us store until 2015. It’s now a drugstore with a tourist attraction ride inside and a Starbucks on the stage.
