The Embassy

Opened in 1925, The Embassy was a French Renaissance style theater seating 556 on a single floor.  In 1969 it was renamed The Embassy 1 and in 1987 the interior was designated by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission.  The Embassy eventually closed Dec. 11, 1997 becoming a Times Square Visitor’s Center.  which then closed in 2014 and is now a sports store specializing in soccer.
